Join us for an engaging In Conversation event marking 50 years of the School of Clinical Medicine. Together, we will reflect on the School’s origins, celebrate key milestones in research, education and partnership with the NHS, and explore the ambitions shaping the next decades.
Dr Paul Siklos (MA, BSc, MBBS, FRCP)
Paul qualified in Medicine from the University of London’s Middlesex Hospital Medical School before coming to Cambridge in 1975 as Medical Registrar to Dr Theo Chalmers, the Foundation Clinical Dean of the School of Clinical Medicine. Paul was one of the School’s first Clinical Supervisors and a Lecturer in Medicine, and was appointed Consultant Physician at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds in 1982. He became Associate Clinical Dean at Cambridge’s School of Clinical Medicine in 1995, and the Foundation Director of the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine in 1999.
Dr Ruchira Sinnatamby (MA, MB, BChir, FRCR, FHEA, FRCP)
Ruchi, an alumna of Queens’ College, completed her degree in Clinical Medicine in 1988. She is now an Affiliated Associate Professor and Clinical Sub-Dean at the School of Clinical Medicine with responsibility for quality assurance of the clinical course. As a consultant radiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals since 1999, Ruchi also provides direct clinical care, primarily in the field of imaging for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. She is a Fellow in Clinical Medicine at Murray Edwards College.
Becky Allen
Becky is an award-winning author and journalist with 20 years’ experience in press work, news and feature writing for print and online media. With specialisms including science, health and the environment, and a long history with the University of Cambridge and its School of Clinical Medicine, she has recently co-authored 100 Yards, 100 Voices: A Century of Swimming at Jesus Green Lido.
