In collaboration with the Winter Park History Museum’s Echoes of Expression: The History of Arts & Culture in Winter Park and in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, this program will explore the life and enduring legacy of Albin Polasek.

One of the foremost American sculptors of the 20th century, Polasek was born in what is now the Czech Republic. He achieved international recognition before selecting Winter Park as his retirement home in 1950. As featured in this Winter Park History Museum exhibit, Polasek became an influential figure in the city’s growing art community.

He created a home, studio, and sculpture gardens on Lake Osceola. His vision continues today through the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens and the ongoing cultural impact of the Museum and the Winter Park Paint Out.
