Managing your former peers is a learnable skill. The most common challenge for newly promoted leaders is how to performance manage and discipline the people who were formerly peers. The From Mates to Manager workshop teaches leaders and people-managers strategies to negotiate the line between friendship and leadership and be able to move forward in their new position. Leaders will learn how to think through the challenges of managing friends and former peers while still getting the job done, thus helping them to walk the leadership line with style with humour and grace.

Tips for navigating between mateship and leadership while managing performance
A useful, flexible model for delegating projects and tasks
Constructive responses to the challenging situations you may have to deal with
Making an Action Plan to bring the lessons from this workshop back to your workplace

Who will benefit

Managers, team leaders and people wanting to have good and productive relations with their staff and needing to negotiate the line between being a friend while managing performance.

This workshop will be excellent for newly promoted leaders or those in acting roles who now need to supervise their former peers.

WORKSHOP PREPARATION: Participants are strongly encouraged to ensure they have a quiet room with wifi, webcam, good headphones and a microphone for the training.

This workshop is limited to 12 participants only.
