From Free to Freedom is a powerful musical performance honoring the remarkable individuals whose lives trace one of history’s most profound and painful journeys—from freedom, through enslavement, and toward liberation. Through music, movement, and storytelling, this production pays tribute to their enduring strength, humanity, and unbroken spirit.
This work is a reclamation of history, told with honesty and reverence, centering voices that have too often been distorted, silenced, or forgotten. It brings forward a narrative that refuses erasure and instead restores dignity, truth, and depth to lived experience.
Unfettered by the chains that once bound bodies, the performance explores how those physical restraints could never contain the spirit within. It is a testament to resilience—of individuals who, despite unimaginable oppression, carried within them an unextinguishable fire for freedom, identity, and survival.
