Info: Hip and Pelvis Rehabilitation Beyond Early-Stage Care: A Framework for Progression, Control, and Capacity.
A practical framework for assessing and progressing the hip and pelvis through the mid-to-late stages of rehabilitation. Focusing on movement quality, force production, and end-range function across a broad range of sporting and musculoskeletal presentations.
Key focus areas
Access → Control → Express → Tolerate
The session will explore how to:
• Restore and utilise available range of motion
• Develop strength, coordination, and positional control
• Progress clients toward higher velocity, power, and reactive tasks
• Build the capacity required to tolerate the demands of life and sport
The session provides practical progression strategies for both clinic and gym-based rehabilitation. Highlighting how the pelvis and hip interact with trunk stiffness, rotation, and lower-limb force transfer, and how clients can progress safely into end-range and higher-demand positions.

🕑: 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM
Mike Stevenson

Info: Late-Stage Rehabilitation and Return to Sport: A Framework for Progression, Loading, and Performance Readiness

This presentation outlines a criteria-based model for late-stage rehabilitation, progressing athletes from foundational strength into high-velocity, plyometric, and ballistic loading. Using the Stevenson Strength Loading Protocol, Mike will cover Stages 5–7 of rehabilitation and the progression toward return-to-sport readiness.

Key focus areas

Movement control under speed and load

Progressing beyond time-based rehabilitation to objective, data-informed decision making

Use of video analysis and force plate data to assess movement quality, asymmetry, rate of force development, landing strategies, and reactive strength

Stages 5–7 progressions, including single-limb plyometric control, change of direction mechanics, and explosive power development

🕑: 12:30 PM - 01:50 PM
Workshop 1

Info: The afternoon practical session will show how these principles are applied clinically using force systems and live case examples. Attendees will work through progression and regression strategies, interpretation of force plate outputs, and programming approaches that connect rehabilitation, performance, and return-to-sport readiness.

🕑: 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
Workshop 2

Info: This afternoon practical session will show how the principles discussed in the morning are applied clinically using force systems and live case examples. Attendees will work through progression and regression strategies, interpretation of force plate outputs, and programming approaches that connect rehabilitation, performance, and return-to-sport readiness.
