About this Event
This set of four lectures examines one of the most important (and yet largely misunderstood) administrations in recent US history, that of George W. Bush. During the early 21st century, the US will fundamentally reposition itself in the global order by (1) starting the War on Terror after 9/11, (2) open up fracking and achieve energy independence, and (3) inaugurate two of the longest wars in US history in Afghanistan and Iraq. On the domestic front, the GOP “establishment” will sit at the apex of its influence – even as its policy decisions sow the seeds of its own dissolution under the Trump administration later in the century. Come check out this overview of this critical era in America’s recent national experience.
