A FREE weekly afterschool workshop for kids 8-12yrs to learn about positive friendship behaviours and tips for making and keeping friends.Friendship Festival is a 6-week psychosocial education program for young carers aged 8- 12-years. The program helps young people to build their social skills and competence supporting them in developing positive, healthy and respectful relationships. It is a strength-based program which supports young people to develop a skill set of strategies to build resilience. This program is funded by the Mental Health Commission to provide support to young people caring for someone or with a loved one with a mental health concern. This program is provided at no cost to participants.

When
This is a weekly workshop and attendees are required to attend all six sessions. The dates are as follows:
-Thursday, 9 May
-Thursday, 16 May
-Thursday, 23 May
-Thursday, 30 May
-Thursday, 6 June
-Thursday, 13 June
Important: Participants are expected to attend all dates.

Important Information
• If your child has not received support from HelpingMinds before (or within the last 6 months) a phone interview will need to take place with the parent/guardian for file
• A consent form will need to be signed by both parents.
• External support workers are not allowed at the workshop.
• Children require adequate independent coping skills to be able to deal with group situations.
• Your child must either have a family member or a friend living with mental health challenge or is at risk of developing mental health challenge themselves.
• All our workshops have a maximum capacity to ensure our counsellors can provide adequate professional support for all children attending.
