2024 Alta Alella PB $23.94
Alta Alella is a family-run organic winery located within the Serralada de Marina Natural Park in the Alella DO of Catalunya, just two kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. Founded in 1991, the estate’s vineyards sit on slopes and terraces between 100 and 250 meters above sea level. The vines are planted on sauló, a sandy granitic soil overlooking the Mediterranean. This wine is made from 100% Pansa Blanca, the local name for Xarel·lo, one of the most important white grapes of Catalunya. The grapes are fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to preserve freshness, aromatics, and mineral character.

2019 Familia Nin-Ortiz Terra Vermella de Nin $45.94
This is an exceptionally rare wine from Familia Nin-Ortiz in Penedès. The grape is Montònega, a rare pink-skinned variant of Parellada, one of the traditional grapes used in Cava production due to its naturally high acidity. Familia Nin-Ortiz is currently the only producer bottling this variety on its own. “Terra Vermella,” meaning “red earth” in Catalan, refers to the red clay and limestone soils of the tiny one-hectare vineyard from which the fruit is sourced. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, following lunar cycles with minimal sulfur use in the cellar.

2022 Celler Pardas Sus Scrofa $26.94
Celler Pardas is located in Penedès near Barcelona and is run by Ramon Parera and Jordi Arnan, two winemakers at the forefront of the region’s revival of indigenous grape varieties. For decades, native grapes were replaced by higher-yielding international varieties, but Pardas has helped restore traditional cultivars to prominence. This wine is made from Sumoll, a historic Catalan grape often compared to Gamay for its lively and approachable style. The wine is aged in concrete and fermented with about 50% whole clusters. Celler Pardas farms biodynamically and practices natural winemaking, utilizing native yeasts, gravity flow, and no fining or filtration.

2023 Álvaro Palacios Camins del Priorat $24.94
Álvaro Palacios was one of the original pioneers who helped put Priorat on the modern wine map in the early 1990s. Alongside producers such as Clos Mogador, Clos Erasmus, Clos de l’Obac, and Clos Martinet, he helped revive the region after decades of decline following phylloxera. Though Palacios grew up in Rioja and spent time working at Château Pétrus in Bordeaux, he was drawn to Priorat’s steep hillsides and distinctive llicorella slate soils. His first vineyard in the region, Finca Dofí, was planted in 1990. Camins del Priorat is his approachable regional expression of the rugged terroir.

2022 Costers del Priorat Pissarres $28.94
Costers del Priorat was established in 1934 with a single parcel and has grown to 25 hectares of vineyards throughout Priorat. Winemaker Josep Mas Barberà employs traditional bush-vine pruning and hand harvesting in the vineyards. Pissarres, the estate’s flagship wine, is a blend of 60% Garnacha and 40% Samsó (Carignan) grown on red llicorella (decomposed slate) soils with limestone subsoil. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in large stainless steel tanks, and each variety is vinified separately. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels, large foudres, and concrete tanks.

2020 Clos Mogador Com Tu $71.94
Clos Mogador was founded by René Barbier, one of the most influential figures in Priorat’s modern wine history. Descended from a long line of French winemakers, Barbier studied in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Limoux before working with the renowned Moueix family of Pétrus. In the 80's, René Barbier (Clos Mogador) and his recruits Álvaro Palacios (Clos Dofí, now Finca Dofí), Daphne Glorian (Clos Erasmus), José Luis Pérez (Clos Martinet, now Mas Martinet), and Carlos Pastrana and Mariona Jarque (Clos de l’Obac) produced a set of red wines that were structured, modern, and ultimately unrecognizable from the more oxidatively oaked prestige bottlings typically identified with Spain. Their collaborative efforts quickly brought international attention back to the region.

Com Tu is Barbier’s tribute to neighboring Montsant, the mountainous region that surrounds Priorat. The wine is made from 100% Garnacha from 35–50-year-old vines, fermented with about 40% whole clusters. It is aged for one year in large 4,500-liter foudres and then for an additional eight months in cement.
