The Riga Performance Festival STARPTELPA is a major event on the international contemporary art scene, bringing together acclaimed artists, curators, and researchers from around the world, while also giving particular attention to emerging voices in performance art.The 2026 theme, SONIC VIBRATIONS, explores the layered and dynamic presence of sound as a performative force. Moving beyond the understanding of sound as mere accompaniment, the festival foregrounds vibration, resonance, silence, and dissonance as active agents shaping bodies, spaces, and collective memory.
On 29 May at St. Saviour's Anglican Church in Riga, audiences are invited to experience performances by both international and local artists, marking the second day of live performances at the church.
