*** ORIENTATION RESCHEDULED TO: SATURDAY, APRIL 18 ***
We are so excited to kick off the 2026 Docent Program Year! Docent Orientation will be a great opportunity to connect with other docents, both new and returning, and to learn more about Freshkills Park and our upcoming programming. Our docents are vital to our mission to increase public programming and engagement with a focus on sustainability and land reclamation.
This orientation will have a run time of 2 and a half hours and we will distribute required materials ahead of time. There will be food provided at the beginning of the program. We can't wait to see you!
You will be asked to sign an activity waiver before participating in the program.
Your ticket admits 1 car (or in limited cases one person). Due to site logistics, all participants must provide their own car that will stay on-site the whole time. Participants may not use a bicycle, taxi or ride-share service. During registration you will be asked if you would be comfortable carpooling. If you do not have a vehicle please indicate that in your order form.
Accessibility: We will drive to the Visitor Center and stop. After an introduction and orientation of the space, we will go on a nature walk so please wear comfortable shoes.
Plan Ahead: Be “tick aware” and wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and insect repellant. Also wear a hat and bring water and a snack.
