Join us for Fresh Start Quiet Reads, a monthly gathering where books, coffee, and community come together in a cozy and welcoming space! Hosted by Rohi’s Readery in collaboration with TLC Coffee (Pop Up Cart!), this event is all about fostering meaningful connections, celebrating diverse stories, and enjoying the simple pleasure of reading in good company.

📖 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM | Arrivals & Coffee Connections
Grab a coffee, meet new faces, and settle in for an afternoon of intentional presence and reflection.

📖 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM | Silent Reading Time
Relax with your book (bring your own or purchase one at the Readery and get 10% off!) as soft jazz plays in the background. Headphones are welcome for sensory-friendly participation.

📖 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM | Sharing & Reflection (Optional)
Chat with fellow readers about your book, why you chose it, and what it means to you! This is a space for thoughtful exchange and community bonding.

✨ Build Community – Meet like-minded book lovers in a laid-back, welcoming environment.
✨ Support Local & Black-Owned Businesses – Purchase a cup of coffee (or 2!) from TLC Coffee, a woman and Black-owned establishment, and experience the mission of Rohi’s Readery, a social justice-driven literacy hub.
✨ Prioritize Your Well-Being – Reading and shared public spaces boost mental health, reduce stress, and create a sense of belonging.
✨ Celebrate Diverse Stories – Explore books that amplify historically marginalized voices and promote literacy as liberation.

This event is free and open to all—whether you’re a bookworm, a casual reader, or just looking for a peaceful space to unwind. Bring your favorite book or pick up something new!

Age Range: Adults 16 and up

Program Description: This program offers a holistic approach to adult education and community empowerment. Designed for individuals aged 16 and up, this program includes a variety of initiatives including queer based art, creative writing, inclusive yoga and community panels. Each component is crafted to support personal growth, foster creative expression, and build a strong sense of community. Participants engage in transformative experiences that encourage healing, leadership, and advocacy, all while celebrating and amplifying diverse voices and experiences.

Rohi’s Readery is an award winning social justice driven children's bookstore and learning center dedicated to critical literacy that promotes inclusivity and diversity by honoring historically marginalized communities.

Rohi’s Liberation Station 501c3, a non-profit initiative by Rohi's Readery, honors historically marginalized communities through a multigenerational literacy learning approach.

Programming is FREE (paid for by Rohi's Liberation Station) unless otherwise stated on the event site. Donations are appreciated and will go back into Educational Programming and Services.
