About this Event
Join us for a delightful concert and multimedia journey as we tell the fascinating stories of the 20 queens and illustrious women whose statues surround the great bassin in the Luxembourg Gardens of Paris. Through narration, poetry, song, and visual art the Embassy of France shines light on its own history through the stories of these women.
The program includes stories of women who held off Attila the Hun, laid the foundation for Christianity and then the Reformation, educated Charlemagne, helped organize theNorman Conquest, took charge on the 7th Crusade, brokered peace treaties, redefined women’s place in society, and created spaces for women in the arts.
By Judy Kane and Philomela, a women’s vocal ensemble, and friends.
