Less than three weeks to go to our concert "French Masterpieces of the 20th Century" featuring works by Ravel, Poulenc and Durufle.The lush harmonies of Ravel's "Mother Goose", so influential on film scores then and now. Poulenc's Gloria, which is a religious text but is at times light hearted and at times languid and sensual. Durufle's Requiem, which is based on Plainsong, the old musical style of monks, serene and contemplative. With a full orchestra and a big choir, this will give you plenty of entertainment, even if you are not familiar witht the music.
