About this Event
Freeform Crochet Weekend - Make a Wall Hanging
Join me for a relaxed, creative two-day workshop exploring the expressive possibilities of freeform crochet. This weekend is all about following your intuition, experimenting, and discovering new ways approaches to making textiles.
We’ll spend Saturday experimenting with freeform crochet, playing with texture, shape, and the rhythms of stitch. We’ll explore a range of techniques and approaches, encouraging you to use crochet in unexpected and intuitive ways.
On Sunday, we will look at the forms we've created and begin to compose them into a cohesive work. I’ll guide you through developing your piece into a wall hanging, considering balance, composition, and flow.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave your work with me to complete the backing, and the finished piece can either be collected or carefully posted to you.
This workshop is suited to curious beginners, dedicated hobbyists, and students with some basic crochet experience who are interested in deepening their practice, developing a more personal, expressive textile language, and exploring more experimental approaches to making.
The workshop takes place in my sunny studio in Hove, Sussex, a calm and welcoming space to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of making alongside like-minded people.
