What does freedom mean after escaping one of the most closed societies in the world?

Join the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for an evening of storytelling and conversation with Freedom Speakers International.

After escaping North Korea in 2011, Songmi Han rebuilt her life in South Korea and later shared her journey publicly through her memoir Greenlight to Freedom, co-authored with Casey Lartigue Jr. During this special program, she will discuss life inside North Korea, escape, adaptation, and the decision to publicly share her story years later.

Joining Songmi Han on stage will be Casey Lartigue Jr. and Eunkoo Lee, the co-founders of Freedom Speakers International (FSI), a Seoul-based organization that empowers North Korean refugees through English education, public speaking, and career development.

Since 2013, FSI has empowered more than 700 North Korean refugees through mentoring, speaking opportunities, and educational programs.

This program is presented in partnership with Freedom Speakers International.
