Freedom of the Town is one of the oldest and most meaningful traditions a community can offer, and in Thatcham it carries a deep sense of pride. This honour is being given to 67 Military Intelligence Company based at Denison Barracks in Hermitage. Recognising their connection with the area and the important role they play in local life, including their attendance at Remembrance Sundays as the permanent military contingent.Troops will March onto the Broadway at 1pm where a formal ceremony and inspections will take place. Afterwards 67 Military Intelligence Company will exercise their Freedom of Thatcham by marching through the Broadway led by a Military band, where residents can line the streets, cheer, and celebrate this shared moment of respect.
It promises to be a meaningful occasion for everyone involved, filled with pride, tradition and community spirit.
