About this Event
Join us at the Freedom Lab in Liberty City for an immersive workshop exploring how community-owned infrastructure can anchor real climate resilience. Born out of Hurricane Irma, the Freedom Lab has evolved from a grassroots disaster response hub into a permanent, cooperative model integrating emergency response (CEOC), food security, public health, extreme heat preparedness, urban reforestation, and economic stabilization under one roof. During Miami Climate Week, participants will experience firsthand how land ownership, shared governance, and frontline leadership intersect to create durable, scalable climate solutions. This session offers a working blueprint for cities seeking to move beyond reactive response and toward permanent, community-led resilience infrastructure.
