Volunteers Needed _____________________

We are planning to host a semi-quincentennial event on June 14th, 2026 from 11:00-4:30. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in demonstrating nineteenth century skills while in costume. We would also like to have costumed volunteers who can help in the houses with visitors.

A bit of background on the museum
The museum features thirteen buildings, five houses, a church, schoolhouse, carriage house (now restrooms), hearse barn, workshop, general store, display barn which features household utilitarian items and the city’s original firetruck, a farm stand (now concession stand), and a large barn which houses our kitchen and dining area. The oldest building we have is the Jenkins cabin from right around 1820 but maybe as early as 1815. It was one of the first houses built in the area. The most recent house is the Prechtel House built in 1876, it is the only original home to the property. Our village depicts from about 1830 until 1870.
Thank you if you have any other question please reach out to me at the email listed above.
