At East Coast Bays Library, Sarah will run this fun, hands-on worm farming workshop for kids. Dive into the fascinating world of tiger worms and discover how these tiny composting heroes turn food scraps into fertiliser for your plants. There’ll be plenty of wiggly worm fun and hands-on activities including how to make a mini-worm from ice-cream containers to take home. Perfect for kids aged 5-10. Parents and caregiver(s) are encouraged to stay at the workshop. Please register on-line or at the library as spaces are limited. Each attending child is asked to bring along two clean ice-cream containers and lids (2L dark plastic) along with a small amount of vegetable scrap if they can. We’ll have spares on the day!
To help you on your way, all confirmed workshop participants get a 50% discount voucher to order a compost system through our website and we’ll deliver it straight to your door. Plus, you’ll also receive a free rat trap to help keep pests under control!
This workshop is proudly supported by Auckland Council, East Coast Bays Library and brought to you by the Compost Collective.
