Join us Wednesday, March 4 at 6:00pm for our free monthly class at St. Pete Pier. Katelyn Grady will lead a class that is grounding and fun, with lots of modifications offered to accommodate everybody. We'll practice as the sun sets over downtown St. Pete. Bring your mat and dress for comfort. Registration is appreciated but not required.
Donations collected this month will benefit Saturday Bowling with Friends. Three years ago, Tim McBride (a beloved team member at Rollin' Oats), and three of his friends started a bowling club for themselves and other special needs adults. Every Saturday they hold space for special needs adults to build community and form friendships through the great game of bowling. They only have two rules: 1. come whenever you want, it's up to you, and 2. no drama; be cool and kind.
Not all of their bowlers can afford the $12.50 fee to bowl each week. Tim's family members often pay the fees for other bowlers out of their own pockets.
Saturday Bowling with Friends is now working to become an official 501(c)(3). Their goals are to raise money to cover the fees for bowlers who need it; to buy team shirts for their new bowlers; and to purchase a second ramp for their ramp bowlers.
Here's what your donations will go toward:
$25 will cover the costs of two Saturday bowlers
$300 will pay for the whole crew to bowl
$400 will purchase a second ramp specifically built for special needs bowlers
$1,000 will cover the fees required to register as a formal 501(c)(3)
$15,000 will cover a year of bowling for the entire group
Donations are appreciated but not required! You can contribute when you book the class or via The BE's Venmo at @TheBodyElectricYoga or on-site with cash.
This class is offered by The Body Electric Yoga Company, your St. Pete home for mindful movement.
