Our new FREE Try Running’ sessions are aimed at anyone who is completely new to running, is a lapsed runner who wants to give it another go or for people who just want to get fitter in a safe, supportive and social group. The sessions are all being held at Thorpe Meadows and are led by our volunteer run leaders who have all completed a leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification. We are running sessions by different leaders on different days and times to offer a range of options to suit different needs.
The sessions are FREE to attend thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the Your Community Greenspace project.
The sessions are beginner friendly but everyone is welcome! The sessions will consist of a warm up, a short run and then finish with a cool down. The volunteer run leader team have great energy and enthusiasm and will be there to support you with any questions, queries and to give you a great session.
Sessions are on Tuesdays 6pm and Wednesdays 10am
We are also starting a new 5 mile run for more experienced runners on Sundays at 10am.
Please note: these sessions usually take place at Thorpe Meadows. Please meet at the new Thorpe Meadows cafe near the car park (PE3 6GA). Parking charges apply.
NOTE: throughout the winter, the Tuesday evening sessions will meet at a closed off section at the bottom of Thorpe Road, where it meets the parkway roundabout. What3Words: Dragon.crisp.flown.
