About this Event
Join us for World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, a global celebration of health, healing, and harmony, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Lake Hiawatha Preserve in Clermont, Florida (Lake Minneola side near the pavilion/playground).
This year marks the 27th Annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, celebrated in over 80 countries around the world. Participants gather at 10:00 AM local time, creating a continuous wave of Tai Chi and Qigong across time zones, promoting peace, wellness, and connection worldwide.
Locally, this will be the 11th year that Sonya Dumas of Tai Chi Clermont has organized and led this event for the community. We are also excited to share that this year’s gathering will coincide with the City of Clermont’s Earth Day celebration, making it an even more meaningful opportunity to connect with nature, community, and mindful movement.
We are honored to welcome Grandmaster Glenn C. Wilson as a special guest. He is a 10th level teacher, 5-time World Champion, and has been inducted into 6 martial arts Hall of Fames. Grandmaster Wilson is the founder of Glenn Wilson’s Kung Fu & Tai Chi Centers and the Wilson Method Pai Lum Tao Martial Arts system. We will also be joined by additional guest instructors from our local Tai Chi and martial arts community.
Tai Chi and Qigong are gentle, low-impact practices often described as “meditation in motion.” They are known to improve balance, reduce stress, increase flexibility, and support overall well-being for people of all ages and fitness levels.
This free community event will include guided Tai Chi and Qigong practice, along with demonstrations in a beautiful lakeside setting. Whether you are brand new or have experience, you are warmly welcome to join us.
This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and be part of a global movement centered on health, harmony, and unity.
