About this Event
Ramble Worldwide is the UK’s leading independent walking holiday specialist, trusted by thousands of people for over 80 years. Founded in 1946 by walking experts and enthusiasts, we have always believed in the transformative power of exploring on foot. Today, we invite you to step into adventure, with over 300 carefully curated walking holidays across the UK, Europe and destinations worldwide.
Join us on this free guided sample walk to experience the camaraderie and sense of adventure that thousands of our guests have enjoyed before, and help us celebrate the last 80 years as we step into our next adventure.
Starting at Eastbourne Pier, this walk heads west along the seafront with the sea on your left, passing the open lawns before reaching the base of the cliffs. From here, the path climbs up onto the South Downs, where you follow the coastal trail along the dramatic edge of the Beachy Head cliffs, with sweeping views over the English Channel.
The route continues along the clifftop to Holywell, where the cliffs meet a quieter beach and small waterfall. From there, you can either retrace your steps for a simple out-and-back, or loop slightly inland along South Downs paths before dropping back to the seafront and following the promenade to the pier — creating a scenic circular walk with a mix of easy paths and moderate climbs.
To ensure a smooth pace and the best experience for all participants, we kindly ask that our hikes remain pet-free and child-free. This helps us keep the group moving comfortably and ensures everyone can fully enjoy the adventure. Thank you for your understanding.
By participating in this sample hike, all participants acknowledge that they are responsible for their own safety, well-being, and personal belongings, and agree to assume all risks associated with outdoor activities.
