A free rabies vaccination and microchip clinic will be held on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bowie City Hall. Dr. Alison Mocko of Bowie Spay & Neuter will return to provide services. A limited number of vaccines and microchips will be available and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.Microchipping is a simple and effective way to help reunite lost pets with their owners. While not a GPS tracker, each microchip contains a unique number that can be scanned by veterinary offices, shelters, and animal control officers, significantly increasing the chances of a safe return.
For the safety of all attendees, dogs must be on flat, non-retractable leashes and cats must be secured
in carriers. Adults must remain in control of their animals at all times. Children are not permitted to hold leashes or carriers while at the clinic. Those bringing multiple pets should ensure enough adults are present to manage each animal.
Residents seeking a three-year rabies vaccination must bring a copy of a current rabies certificate for verification. For more information, contact Animal Control or Community Services at 301-809-3002.
