About this Event
What does ‘Community’ mean to you?
Join artists Gabrielle and Maya for the third part of their creative workshop series. In this session, you are invited to share your memories and, using fabrics, embroidery threads, and buttons, decorate a fabric square that represents your interpretation of community.
No sewing experience is needed! We’ll provide materials and colour guides to help you express your story. You'll also have the chance to record a short audio story about your square, which will be linked to the final artwork via a QR code.
What we'll create together: Your individual squares will become part of a large, collaborative ‘Memory Quilt’, and your recorded stories will form an interactive audio archive.
This collective artwork will be a central piece in the final Yam from Here exhibition, showcasing the diverse and personal tapestries that make up our idea of home in the Black Country.
