Afternoon Open Mic Poetry at Five Points Active Adults 18+
Free Event Hosted by Freshly Brewed Poems for all ages 18 and up.
Every First Wednesday Afternoon of the month from 3 to 4:30pm
Poets and writers gather to share original work in a casual un-amplified Open Mic forum. More of poetry in the round, we encourage original material or share with us your favorite authors, even song lyrics. Listeners and friends are welcome. This is meant to be a casual, safe, mentoring environment.
Socialize and sign in to read at 2:30pm, reading starts at 3.
The size of the group will determine how many poems each participant will read but be prepared for 1 to 3 poems each or 5 minutes of prose or spoken word.
We are here to listen not critique
Critiques only if requested, but discussion of the subject will happen, though it is your choice.
Five Points Active Adults Center is for all adults 18+
Afternoon of Open Mic Poetry aims to be an intra-generational gathering of creatives working in a safe and mentoring environment. All ages 18 and above are welcome.
This is a free event sponsored through Raleigh Rec Key Word Poetry then Freshly Brewed Poems
Registration is advised online at RecLink, https://reclink.raleighnc.gov/ or in person at any Raleigh Community Center to assure your place, but walk-ins are welcome. Raleigh residency is not required to attend

Info: 1-3 poems or 5 minutes of prose depending on the number of readers for our first round. Original pieces encouraged but you may bring other authors you admire. If time we will go around again. Discussion of subject between pieces is welcome, critiques of work not necessary unless requested by poet.
