About this Event
Join us for a Lunch and Learn at Golden Corral (2111 SW College Rd, Ocala, FL 34474) on Wednesday Marh 11th at 12PM to better understand the risks, recognize early warning signs, and explore practical steps to protect nerve health and improve overall well-being.
Diabetic neuropathy is one of the most prevalent and debilitating complications of diabetes, resulting from chronic hyperglycemia–induced nerve damage. It commonly presents as distal symmetric polyneuropathy, characterized by sensory loss, neuropathic pain, and progressive functional impairment, particularly in the lower extremities. This condition significantly increases the risk of foot ulceration, infection, falls, and amputation, contributing to substantial morbidity and healthcare burden. Despite current management strategies focused on glycemic control and symptom relief, unmet clinical needs remain in early detection, disease modification, and targeted therapeutics—highlighting important opportunities for ongoing clinical research and innovation.
A brief presentation on the latest in clinical research will be given at the start of the event. Doors open 30 minutes (11:30 AM) prior to the event start time.
