Let's Walk - Industrial History of Tring Reservoirs & Local Canals
Thursday 11th December @ 10.30am - 3 hours
Start point and end: Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park (Postcode HP23 4LJ; What3Words reprints.mulled.lanes) next to WatersEdge Café.
Car Park cost is £3 for 3 hours, £4 all day.
The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.
Please join us for a fun leisurely walk along the canal. You'll learn a lot and meet new people!
These sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways.
A led walk starting and ending at Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park. Walking at a medium pace for a maximum of 3 hours, we will stop to talk about the canal heritage and local history. The health benefits and science behind walking will also be covered.
Well behaved dogs on leads permitted are very welcome.
Please be aware that there will be steps and uneven terrain.
The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please wear stout shoes and suitable clothing, eg a waterproof jacket. It can be breezy on the higher reservoir section.
