Our latest live program presented at Richland Library will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 -- Veterans Day. Fritz Hamer, former curator of history at the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum, will speak about the Battle of Ia Drang, which occurred from Nov. 14-18, 1965. It was the first great clash between the U.S. and North Vietnamese armies, and inspired the film, “We Were Soldiers.”
The lecture, presented in the theater of the library's main location on Assembly Street in Columbia, is free and open to the public.
