Chris Hazelton, Brett Jackson, Peter Schlamb, and John Kizilarmut are all individually stalwarts of the storied Kansas City jazz scene, but together they bring the perfect blend of groove and tradition mixed with contemporary creativity. With Hazelton on Hammond B-3 organ, Jackson on saxophone, Schlamb on vibraphone, and Kizilarmut on drums, the group brings a fresh yet authentic take on the city's rich jazz tradition.

Free Jazz Thursday shows at The Ship are a good way to discover emerging local musical talent in a cozy, intimate setting. The shows are free to attend, but your donations are appreciated to help us offset costs and pay the performers.
