About this Event

Thursday, Jan 9
6:30pm ET (60 min)
Online (live, recorded)

This free session is designed for anyone experiencing pelvic floor challenges, as well as those interested in learning creative, holistic approaches to pelvic health. In a time of misinformation, reduced access to essential healthcare, and growing threats to bodily autonomy, it’s more important to educate ourselves and know how to care for our own bodies.

Yoga offers a unique opportunity to connect with and better understand the pelvic region, including the reproductive organs and surrounding muscles. We can cultivate a healthier, more informed, and more intimate relationship with our pelvic floor.

In this class, you will:
  • Develop awareness of your pelvis and pelvic floor, while identifying areas of tension.
  • Explore breathing techniques to help regulate your nervous system and promote relaxation in the pelvic muscles.
  • Practice gentle movements and stretches designed to lengthen and release tension in the pelvic floor.

This session is especially helpful for individuals living with pelvic pain, endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, or other pelvic health concerns. However, anyone curious about pelvic health and anatomy is warmly welcome.

Gender-inclusive language will be used, and all bodies are welcome. The session will be recorded and sent to participants afterward, and you'll have access to the recording for 7 days.

About the Facilitator:

(she/her) is a white, queer, trauma informed yoga teacher. Sasha invites students to find a deeper relationship with their bodies, their communities, and the world. Sasha completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Daya Yoga Studio in 2017, and went on to study Trauma Sensitive Yoga at the Justice Resource Institute. She primarily works with LGBTQIA+ community members and with nonprofits like Doctors Without Borders and Phoenix House.

Sasha holds space for the complexities of trauma, physical pain, gender, and sexuality as they relate to the pelvic floor. Beyond her formal training, Sasha holds personal experience with endometriosis, pelvic pain, and high tone pelvic floor dysfunction. Physical therapy and yoga have helped her navigate a path of healing. Sasha also works as an abortion doula.
