Free Guitar Sundays Concert: The Tedesco Duo, classical guitar and flute

The Tedesco Duo—Catherine O’Kelly, classical guitar, and Arielle Burke, flute—performs a free concert of classical guitar music as part of the free Guitar Sundays series. This event is free and open to the public and audiences of all ages!
ABOUT THE TEDESCO DUO: CATHERINE O'KELLY, GUITAR AND ARIELLE BURKE, FLUTE
Arielle and Catherine began performing together in 2011 as students at The Hartt School. Their first performance was of Sonatina for Flute and Guitar by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, which is what prompted them to name the ensemble “Tedesco Duo.”
Catherine O’Kelly: Classical guitarist Catherine O’Kelly is an active performer throughout New England, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Catherine is currently finishing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in classical guitar performance at The Hartt School in West Hartford, CT under a full scholarship. Catherine also maintains strong teaching studios at several schools in Massachusetts. She is the Guitar Department chair at The Rivers School Conservatory in Weston, MA; and additionally teaches at Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA, and at The Powers Music School in Belmont, MA. She is a registered Suzuki teacher, and a former Suzuki student herself.
Arielle Burke: Praised for her “full-bodied and dulcet” sound, flutist Arielle Burke performs regularly in the greater Boston area, She received her Bachelor of Music from The Hartt School of Music, Dance, and Theater and a master’s degree in flute performance from The New England Conservatory.Arielle maintains a studio of young flute and piccolo students in the greater Hartford and Boston areas.

Guitar Sundays is a free, family-friendly monthly concert series that showcases a rich lineup of classical guitar talent from the Seacoast, broader Boston region, and nationwide. The series is free and open to the public! The location alternates between PMAC and the library, so please see event listings for details.
The program is co-presented by Portsmouth Music and Arts Center (PMAC) and Portsmouth Public Library, in association with the Boston Classical Guitar Society and curated by Mitch Shuldman.
