About this Event

ArtsArlington invites you to express your creativity, have fun, and contribute to "Go Fish!", a new town-wide project.

Come paint a "fish" with us! All supplies provided, and all ages welcome. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us on Sunday, April 26 at Roasted Granola Café, 1346 Mass Avenue, Arlington Heights. Registration strongly suggested. Reserve your spot for either 3 pm to 4 pm or for 4 pm to 5 pm.

This event is hosted by The Roasted Granola Café and the Arlington Heights Community Association.

This project celebrates the courageous herring that swim upstream from the ocean every year to spawn. A combination of advocacy by the Mystic River Watershed Association and its volunteers, government regulation, and new fish ladders have increased the population of these once endangered fish.

ArtsArlington will install 2,000 individually painted herring on the brick walls of the Fox Library and surrounding storefronts to celebrate the protection of urban waterways and wildlife, creativity and community.

Go Fish is supported by a grant from the Mass Cultural Council and donations from AlumiGraphics Smooth by FloorSignage, LLC and Blick Art Supplies.
