Delve into the National Gallery’s Research Library & Archives with Jack Ennis Butler, National Gallery Reference Librarian, for a talk focused on the costume designs of Sonia Delaunay in connection with the exhibition Know My Name: Kee, Jackson and Delaunay.
In this talk, Jack will introduce the Research Library & Archives rare book and special collections and share insights into the groundbreaking costume designs of Delaunay.
The National Gallery Research Library & Archives hold the rare book Le cœur à gaz [The Gas Heart] by Tristan Tzara (1977), which includes lithographic reproductions of Sonia Delaunay’s 1923 theatrical costume designs. This program offers a unique opportunity to view Le cœur à gaz and other highlights relevant to costume design from the Research Library & Archives.
