A Forest School Morning for Children Aged 3–7Some children learn best when they are outside, building, exploring, cooking and asking questions about the world around them.
At Greenbank, we believe childhood should include muddy boots, curious minds and the confidence that grows when children are trusted to try things for themselves.
We are inviting families considering Preschool, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 at Greenbank to join us for a Saturday Forest School Morning, designed especially for children aged 3–7.
During the morning, children will explore our woodland through a range of gentle, hands-on activities including:
🔥 Campfire time
Children will gather around the fire while our Forest School teacher demonstrates how it is safely prepared and used.
🥣 Outdoor cooking
Children will help toast and prepare simple woodland snacks over the fire.
🪵 Little builders
Den building using sticks, ropes and natural materials.
🔎 Woodland Adventures
Bug hunting, leaf collecting and exploring the woodland with magnifying glasses.
🐝 Visit to the Greenbank bees (weather permitting)
A look at our school apiary and how bees help the natural world.
Throughout the morning our Year 6 children will also talk about how Forest School helps them learn confidence, responsibility and how to manage risk safely.
At Greenbank we are intentionally keeping our classes small and capped at 16 pupils, so every child is known and supported as they grow.
Places for the morning are limited to keep the experience calm and meaningful.
