Winter Wonders: Art & Exploration at the Boone County History & Culture CenterSaturday, January 10th | Drop by anytime between 10am-12pm
Bundle up and join us for a day of winter-themed exploration and creativity at the museum! Children will discover the science and beauty of snowflakes, learn how they have been captured through early photography, and view historical winter images. Hands-on art activities will inspire creativity while celebrating the magic of the season.
Creative Activities Include:
- Snowflakes: Fold and cut one-of-a-kind snowflake designs and/or decorate a popsicle snowflake
- Ice Skates & Mittens: Design and decorate paper ice skates and mittens to show everyone your personality
- Create your own paper plate snow globe
- Hear the story of “Snowflake Bentley”, the first person to photograph actual snowflakes
- Cut connected snow people from paper so they’re holding hands/sticks
- Create a snow person from paper doilies
Perfect for curious minds and creative hands, this program brings winter to life indoors!
Formerly known as our Free Family Event series, Boone Youth Explorers is our newly renamed monthly program designed to spark curiosity and connect kids with local history through hands-on experiences.
Thanks to generous support from Missouri Humanities, we’ve been able to expand this program and offer even more engaging activities that bring the past to life for young minds.
