The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, a moment when the light is full, the Earth is alive, and we are invited to celebrate warmth, connection, and joy.
This year, Awakening Hope is gathering at Belle Isle Park for a summer celebration rooted in recovery, friendship, laughter, and community.
Recovery is not only about surviving hard things. It is also about learning how to enjoy life again. To laugh without needing a reason. To play without feeling silly. To share food, sit in the sun, bring the people we love, and remember that healing can feel good.
This free community gathering will include food, beverages, games, laughter, connection, and time together outdoors. Friends, family, children, allies, and loved ones are welcome.
Together, we will:
• Celebrate the summer solstice in community
• Share food, beverages, games, and laughter
• Make space for friendship, play, and sober joy
• Welcome friends, family, children, and loved ones
• Honor recovery as a path that includes fun, connection, and real-life joy
• Gather in the light with people who believe healing happens in community
There will be a brief welcome and moment of reflection, but the heart of this gathering is simple: being together, having fun, and celebrating the joy that becomes possible in recovery.
No ritual experience is needed. No spiritual background is required. Come exactly as you are.
This is a free community celebration for anyone seeking recovery, supporting someone who is, or wanting a joyful, recovery-centered space to connect, play, and be part of something hopeful.
Please text 313-595-4148 to RSVP and receive the exact Belle Isle Park location.
Bring your people, bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair if you’d like, and join us for an afternoon of recovery, joy, and community in the summer sun.
