About this Event
As part of our Summer Programming, our Free Drumming Circles invite the community to gather, connect, and experience the power of rhythm in an open and welcoming outdoor space. Taking place every Thursday at 6PM, starting June 11th at Plaza De Las Americas, this weekly activation is designed to bring people of all ages and skill levels together through music and cultural expression.
Participants can expect a guided drumming experience led by experienced facilitators, blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with interactive call-and-response, movement, and group improvisation. No prior experience is necessary—whether you’re picking up a drum for the first time or already play, you’ll be able to jump right in.
Each session creates a vibrant, communal atmosphere where attendees can:
- Learn foundational rhythms and techniques
- Engage in collective music-making and improvisation
- Experience the cultural roots of traditional drumming
- Connect with neighbors and build community through shared expression
Drums will be available in limited supply, but participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments if they have them. More than just a music session, this is a space for wellness, creativity, and cultural connection—where rhythm becomes a tool for joy, stress relief, and unity. 🥁
