Delicious Dye Days: Refresh Your White Tees ššØ
Join us for a hands-on, all-ages delicious dye station where we transform plain white cotton t-shirts into beautiful blush and salmon pink piecesāusing avocado pits and peels!
Got a stained or boring white tee? Bring it and give it a fresh new life with this simple, non-toxic dye technique. Youāll learn how everyday kitchen āwasteā can create stunning, wearable color while exploring the basics of plant-based fabrics and natural dyes. And check out the Healthy Fabric Library to learn about plant-based, non-toxic, biodegradable fiber, fabric, and dye options.
Drop in anytime during the sessionāno experience needed. Dye your tee, let it dry while you enjoy the farmers market, and pick it up before you go!

EXPLORE THE MARKET | While you're at Vizcaya Village, take some time to wander the Farmers Market and chat with local farmers and vendors. The market is open from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm every Sunday.
Taryn Hipwell is a global speaker and healthy fashion consultant dedicated to reshaping the future of fashion through transparency, circularity, and cleaner materials. She is the author of How to Shop for Shi(f)t and founder of the Healthy Fabric Library, which launched at Frost Science on World Ocean Day in Miami. Taryn was honored as Sustainable Expert of the Year at the Mana Fashion Awards.
Taryn has spoken to more than 10,000 students at top institutions worldwide, including FIT, Parsons, MDC/MFI, USF, NYU, and YOUNGA at the United Nations on sustainability, diversity, and toxins in fabrics. She launched the first Eco Closet and Upcycling Labs at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009, and has taught upcycling for over a decade, including at the Cali Vibes Music Festival. She hosts Upcycled Fancy Fanny Pack workshops and Delicious Dye Day demos at cultural institutions, botanical gardens, and universities, teaching creative repair, circular design, and natural dye techniques to local designers and communities in Miami.
LOCATION | This activity takes place exclusively at Vizcaya Village, the estateās historic farm village, and does not include access to the east side of the property where the Main House and gardens are located.
VIZCAYA FAMILY PROGRAMS | This series is designed to create opportunities for intergenerational interactions among families with young children (ages 6-12). As such, orders that do not include a child ticket may be canceled.
To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.
