Free Crevasse Rescue Skills Practice! Join this annual fun indoor evening at the Mary’s Hall gymnasium at Selkirk College’s 10th street campus in Nelson between 5-9pm November 12, 2024. Hosted by Summit Mountain Guide's core instructors and professional guides. The perfect environment to learn or refresh your skills while mingling with your local outdoor community. The local glaciers are changing and so should your skills. The skills covered are useful for both summer and winter glacier travel and include improvised rescue systems, roping up, rope ascending, anchor building, glacier morphology, navigation, route selection, etc. The evening is free however, donations are accepted to cover for the gym rental. Any excess donations will go to our beloved Nelson Search and Rescue group. Spread the word and join with a friend.
