7:30 PM – Court Hoang & The Love Children
Court Hoang is searching for home. He feels a little out of place everywhere he goes, so he spends a lot of time in his head. From endless introspection and the need to create community comes an indie folk rock singer/songwriter/composer based in Fort Worth, TX. He incorporates his background in choirs, a cappella styles and beatboxing into his work; inspirations range from Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley to Andrew Bird and Muse.
Originally from Dallas, TX, he’s worked in California, Vietnam (where he wrote and recorded his demo album Taking Sides and had a brief stint as a pop artist in Ha Noi), and Austin (where he wrote and recorded his first full-length album Compass Rose) before moving back to north Texas. He has released three full length albums, two EPs and two singles, and continues to perform locally and nationally on tour along with his band, The Love Children. His work has been featured on radio, film, television and theatre in California, Texas, and Vietnam.
His live performances range from intimate and introspective solo work to fully arranged strings and percussion, from electronic and hip-hop inspired live-looping to full-throttled indie rock, tinged with elements of soul and R&B. Whatever the setup, whatever the space, the honesty and vulnerability shine through in his lyrics, melodies, and vocal performance.
When he’s not writing, composing, rehearsing, performing or recording, he spends as much time as humanly possible with his amazing spouse and their four children. His third full-length album, Triptychs, released in four parts, is available now.
8:30 PM – Infinite Journey
Infinite Journey is an international Journey tribute band based in Dallas, Texas, playing high-energy shows across the country since 2012. This five piece delivers a musically immersive Journey experience, focusing on the overall sound, solos, and most especially the soaring vocals that make Journey so iconic. Infinite Journey is in high demand all of the country for corporate events, festivals, and club venues. They have had the honor opening for rock and pop legends – Night Ranger (twice), Loverboy, Starship, Winger, Neon Trees, The Toadies, Kool & the Gang (twice), KC and the Sunshine Band, and Sister Sledge, as well as country artist, Lee Brice.
In addition, Infinite Journey was chosen out of thousands of tribute acts across the country to perform on Season 7 of AXS TV’s “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” hosted by Katie Daryl. The national cable television channel, AXS TV, has 48 million subscribers and is the brainchild of celebrity and entrepreneur, Mark Cuban. “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” takes place LIVE at the world-famous Whisky a GoGo in Hollywood, California. Ms. Daryl said it best, “Infinite Journey is phenomenal!” The key to their spot-on sound is capturing the unmistakable voice of Steve Perry, and this is just one of the band’s strengths. Easily conjuring Journey as you know and love them, the music is note for note, without the use of any vocal or instrumental backing tracks.
Fans often tell them they close their eyes and truly believe that Journey is in front of them, and they continue to grow a devoted following every time they play. For the band, it’s a labor of love. As far as the fans are concerned, the name says it all: it is truly Infinite Journey.
