About this Event
Founded in 1970, Cappella Cantorum is a community choir based in Connecticut, dedicated to giving singers of all ages the opportunity to learn, perform, and share outstanding choral music with the wider community.
The ensemble has built a rich tradition of international touring since 1981, with overseas performance tours now taking place every other summer. Cappella Cantorum has also been honoured with invitations to perform at Carnegie Hall on six occasions, reflecting its long-standing artistic excellence and community spirit.
Spanning centuries of choral tradition, this concerts' richly varied programme, directed by Dr. Jeremy Milton, weaves together the luminous polyphony of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Heinrich Schütz, and Mozart with the expressive beauty of Romantic and contemporary voices such as Bob Dylan, Eric Whitacre and Rollo Dilworth. Alongside these are powerful spirituals and gospel-inspired works, full of rhythmic vitality, hope, and heartfelt devotion. From serene reflections to exuberant songs of praise, the concert journeys through themes of faith, light, and the enduring human spirit—offering moments of quiet intimacy, joyful celebration, and profound connection.
