Looking for an easy way to dispose of those sensitive documents that you no longer need, like old tax returns, financial documents, medical records, and other papers that you don't want to just throw in the trash? Come to the FREE Community Shred & Food Drive event, sponsored by Christ Church and Move with Marion Realtors!Bring up to five boxes of documents to our shredding truck. Please remove all binder clips, staples, plastic and other objects that can't be shredded, and please recycle your generic junk mail and magazines at home.
Along with your unwanted sensitive documents, we invite you to bring in unexpired, shelf-stable food donations to support food pantries at Rising Hope Mission Church, which serves as a lifeline and outreach for the food- or housing-insecure population along the Rt. 1 corridor in Alexandria.
Examples in demand include:
canned proteins (tuna, chicken, corned beef, beans)
canned soups and chili
vegetable/salad oils
cornmeal and dry baking goods
canned fruits and vegetables
peanut butter and jelly
dry pasta and jarred/canned pasta sauce, boxed mac & cheese, etc.
breakfast cereal and oatmeal
individually wrapped cracker packs and snack bags of cookies
bottled water, bottled/boxed juice, etc.
Travel-sized items for personal care, as well as baby care, are also welcome!
