About this Event
LA Against Cancer: Day of Play is a free community design festival and public showcase that brings together games, music, creativity, and community in support of cancer advocacy and policy.
The event functions as a living community design lab — part festival, part workspace, and part celebration. Projects created during the Hack4Hope Cancer Policy Hackathon and Game Jam (held prior to Day of Play) are showcased in an open, playful environment where attendees can explore interactive games, meet creators, and see how design and play can help communities engage with issues like access to care, prevention, and health equity.
With live music, chess, free food, community organizations, and hands-on experiences, Day of Play is designed to be welcoming, joyful, and accessible. No gaming, tech, or policy experience is required — just come as you are, play, and connect.
