Welcome to Free Boating Day!
Come join us at The Center for Wooden Boats on Valley Street in Seattle for a day filled with fun on the water! Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a first-time paddler, this event is perfect for everyone. Enjoy the beautiful views of the water while trying out a new boat or watercraft. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the joy of boating for FREE!
This is a first-come first-served event. Skippered rides will be offered, the line begins forming at 9am so get here early! Registration begins at 10am. All sailboats, rowboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards will be free to rent on this day. There will be kids activities including Storytime and Toy Boat Building.
What to expect:
- Free 1-hour rentals of all human-powered boats; peapods, rowboats, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards.
- Free Sailboat Checkouts
- Free 1-hour rentals of all sailboats
- Our first Public Sail of the year! Sign up is first come first served and will be outside of the Wagner Education Center
- Free youth and family activities including: toy boat building, knot tying, woodshop demonstrations, try a tool, and more!
- Special Wooden Boat Storytime with Spring theme!
- As always, free access to the museum with new exhibits to view
