About this Event

Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet? Now is your chance.


Join our 6-week Beginner Crochet Class taught by Tiffany Fountain in the CFCF Community Space, starting March 11th. This hands-on class is perfect for beginners who want to learn foundational crochet skills in a small, supportive setting.


Crochet is a year-round hobby that encourages creativity and self-sufficiency. It is also a practical skill that allows you to create useful handmade items and even trade or sell your work. There is growing interest in our community to learn this craft, and we are excited to offer this opportunity.


What You’ll Learn:

• How to hold a crochet hook

• Basic stitches

• How to crochet in rows and rounds

• How to read a pattern

• Stitch anatomy

• Finishing techniques


Projects:

You will complete a mug rug and a drawstring pouch by the end of the course.


Curriculum Breakdown:

Week 1: Introduction, holding the hook, basic stitches, reading a pattern, crochet in rows

Week 2: Start mug rug

Week 3: Finish mug rug

Week 4: Learn crochet in rounds, anatomy of a stitch, start drawstring pouch

Week 5: Work on pouch

Week 6: Finish pouch


All materials are provided, including hooks, yarn, stitch markers, darning needles, scissors, and handouts.
