What You’ll Learn
This class teaches safe and responsible operation of ATVs and snowmobiles, including:
Preparing your machine for riding
Basic riding skills
Laws and responsibilities
Emergencies & survival
Map & compass navigation
First aid basics
Environmental awareness and landowner respect
At the end of the course, students take a final exam to receive their ATV/Snowmobile Safety Certification.
Youth & Family Info
Students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
In Maine, youth ages 10–15 must complete an approved ATV safety course to legally operate on land other than their own.
Hands-On Learning for Kids
The event will have the ATV Maine Safety Trailer, which includes:
Two training machines for kids to practice and learn on
Speed limiters and instructor K*ll-switches
A small practice course with trail signs and obstacles
