Maine GearShare and Goodwill Northern New England are partnering to bring you an Apparel Repair Fair during Earth Month at our South Portland Goodwill store! Shop for thrifted treasures while Maine GearShare staff and volunteers repair your damaged apparel for free.The event will be hosted on Saturday, April 18th from 11am-3pm at the South Portland, Maine location - 555 Maine Mall Road. Common repairs include: stuck or misaligned zippers, rips, holes, broken backpack buckles and straps, seam failures and more.
Goodwill NNE is a leader in re-use, but partnering with Maine GearShare to offer repair is an important part of our sustainability efforts to keep materials in use and out of landfills.
Please note: In an effort to help as many people as possible, we may limit people to one repaired item — this is entirely dependent on the team’s capacity during the Apparel Repair Fair. If you have more, you’re welcome to bring them and speak to Maine GearShare staff about their repair rates to be fixed at a later time.
