About this Event
Mental Health First Aid gives you the skills to recognize when someone is facing mental health or substance use challenges — and the confidence to be their first source of support.
Adult Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training program that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. The course provides the skills needed to recognize when someone may be experiencing a mental health issue and the confidence to offer initial support until appropriate professional help is available.
Participants learn about common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, how to interact with a person in crisis, and how to connect individuals to appropriate care and resources. The training also focuses on early intervention, reducing stigma, and using practical strategies to support others in real-life situations.
Through this course, individuals gain the knowledge and tools to provide compassionate, immediate support to friends, family members, coworkers, or community members who may be experiencing mental health challenges.
