About this Event
Every girl deserves the chance to become her best self.
As a girl enters adolescence, she may have many questions.
Is she worthy?
Is she capable?
Is she seen?
The Girls Empowerment Camp exists to make sure her answer is yes.
We are a free five-day summer experience for girls ages 9–12 — completely free, so that cost is never the reason a girl misses her chance. Our focus is resilience. Not surviving or enduring. The bounce-back. The mindset that is positive, realistic, and empowered.
Why It Matters
Adolescence is a turning point. It's when identity begins to solidify, when self-worth can either deepen or erode — and when the world often starts asking too much of girls who are still just learning who they are.
Many of the girls we serve have already navigated adultification, negative stereotypes, and disproportionate school discipline — messages that quietly chip away at confidence long before they've had the chance to build it.
Our camp is designed to interrupt that trajectory.
What We Do
Through a unique, creative curriculum, girls practice reframing the stories they tell about themselves — learning to solve problems with confidence, manage hard emotions in healthy ways, and set goals worth chasing. They leave knowing that mistakes are not failures. That obstacles are not endpoints. That they are capable, worthy, and seen.
This is more than a week of camp. It is a foundation.
We invite you to join us for a fun, enriching experience.
The 2026 Girls Empowerment Camp at CHT is being sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute.
